Termite Control in Glen Rock PA & Surrounding Areas
Subterranean termites live where you can’t see them. Our treatment starts where they live—in the soil.
Professional subterranean termite treatment, monitoring, annual inspections, and Wood-Destroying Insect Reports for homes and businesses across South Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland.
Family-owned since 1991 · Based in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania
35+ Years. Zero Retreatments.
ATC has been performing subterranean termite treatments for more than 35 years, and we have never had to retreat a completed subterranean termite treatment.
That is a track record we are proud of. Careful inspection, preparation, application, and attention to detail are part of every termite treatment we perform.
The termite problem beneath the surface
Subterranean termites are the termites ATC encounters most often in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Colonies live in the soil and reach structural wood through concealed pathways. Activity can remain hidden behind walls, beneath floors, in crawl spaces, and around foundations.
Termites feed on cellulose in wood and other building materials. Damage can develop gradually before obvious signs appear. Early detection gives you an opportunity to address activity sooner.
ATC’s main treatment program focuses on subterranean termites. We also help identify unusual situations, including suspected drywood termites introduced in infested wood products.
Signs that deserve a closer look
Mud tubes
Shelter tubes along foundations or structural components can indicate subterranean termite activity.
Swarmers or discarded wings
Winged insects indoors or piles of wings warrant identification. Flying ants can look similar.
Changed or damaged wood
Hollow, blistered, weakened, or visibly damaged wood needs evaluation to determine the cause.
Activity near the foundation
Basements, crawl spaces, slabs, and foundation areas can conceal entry routes and feeding activity.
You do not need to identify the insect yourself before calling. Send clear photos of insects, wings, tubes, or affected wood. An inspection helps establish what is actually present.
Our subterranean termite treatment
ATC uses a professional soil treatment to establish a treated zone around and beneath the structure where needed. The application is planned around the building’s construction, termite activity, and access points.
Inspect the structure
Evaluate evidence of activity, foundation construction, access, and conditions that support termites.
Reach the treatment areas
Trench around foundations, treat soil directly, and drill through concrete where necessary.
Apply the treatment
Inject and apply treatment material to appropriate areas and termite entry points according to the product label.
Explain the next steps
Document the service and discuss monitoring, inspections, and any conditions that need correction.
Every property is different. Your technician explains the work recommended for your foundation, slab, crawl space, and other relevant areas.
Why we use Termidor®
ATC uses Termidor, a professional termiticide containing fipronil. It is a non-repellent treatment: termites can travel through treated areas and contact the active ingredient instead of simply avoiding a repellent barrier.
This approach helps address the infesting termite population. Accurate application and an appropriate treatment zone are important parts of the service.
Termidor is professionally diluted and applied according to label directions by trained technicians. Fipronil is also an ingredient in certain flea and tick products, but those products have different formulations and uses. Termite products are for their labeled structural applications and are not pet treatments.
Monitoring and detection—even without an active infestation
ATC offers termite detection and monitoring services for customers who want ongoing attention to potential activity. Monitoring can be especially useful when a property has previous termite activity, crawl spaces, wood-to-soil contact, moisture issues, older construction, nearby woods, or other conducive conditions.
Monitoring looks for activity; treatment addresses an infestation. We explain what your property needs and what the recommended service includes.
Annual inspections matter
ATC recommends a termite inspection at least once a year. Hidden activity is easy to miss during everyday use of a home. A routine inspection provides another opportunity to identify signs before visible damage becomes more extensive.
Between inspections, report new mud tubes, swarmers, discarded wings, or changes to wood. Correct leaks and drainage issues and reduce wood-to-soil contact where possible.
Selling or refinancing your home?
You may be asked for a Wood-Destroying Insect Report, commonly called a WDI report. ATC provides WDI inspections and reports for real estate transactions and refinancing.
The inspection looks for visible evidence of wood-destroying insects and reportable conditions. Tell us your transaction deadline and any requirements supplied by your lender or real estate professional.
Quarterly Protection customers
A WDI report is included when needed for a qualifying sale or refinance, provided you have an active service relationship with ATC.
Annual Protection customers
The same qualifying WDI report benefit is included for customers with an active Annual Protection Program relationship.
One less thing to arrange when it is time to sell or refinance. Contact us to confirm eligibility and schedule your inspection.
What about drywood termites?
Drywood termites are not the primary termite problem ATC sees in Pennsylvania and Maryland. They can occasionally arrive inside furniture, lumber, decorative wood, or other infested wood products brought from southern regions.
If the activity appears to involve an item you recently acquired, tell us where it came from and send photos. We can help determine the species and recommend the appropriate next step. Our main subterranean termite program should not be assumed to address every drywood termite situation.
Termite damage and homeowners insurance
Termite damage is generally not covered by standard homeowners insurance; infestation and maintenance-related damage are commonly excluded. Confirm the details with your own insurance carrier and policy.
That makes inspection and early detection particularly valuable. Do not assume an insurance policy will pay for termite treatment or repairs.
Treatment stops the pest problem. Repairs address the damage.
Eliminating termites does not repair wood they have already damaged. If we identify damage, we can explain which areas need further evaluation.
When structural repairs or more extensive corrective work are needed, we can refer the project to ATC Home Pros.
Inspection
Identify the pest and evaluate visible evidence.
Treatment
Address the termite infestation with the appropriate method.
Monitoring
Continue checking for activity and changing conditions.
Repair
Evaluate and repair affected materials as needed.
We help you understand the next step so you are not left figuring out who to call.
Not every wood-destroying insect is a termite
Carpenter ants, carpenter bees, wood-boring beetles, and termites can all be associated with damaged wood, but their biology and treatment needs differ.
Identify the insect → locate the source → assess activity → choose the appropriate treatment.
Our goal is to treat the actual problem, not simply react to visible damage.
Termite control FAQs
What kind of termites do you treat?
Our primary termite program treats subterranean termites. We also help identify less common situations and recommend next steps for suspected drywood termites.
What are the most common warning signs?
Mud tubes, swarmers, discarded wings, and damaged or weakened wood can all warrant an inspection. Photos help us begin identifying the problem.
Does treatment involve drilling?
Depending on the structure, we may need to drill through concrete to access appropriate treatment areas. We explain the recommended scope after inspecting the property.
Why do you use a soil treatment?
Subterranean termites live in soil and use concealed routes to reach a structure. A professional soil treatment creates a treated zone along appropriate access areas.
What is Termidor?
Termidor is a professional non-repellent termiticide containing fipronil. ATC applies it according to its label and the needs of the structure.
What should I do if I have children or pets?
Tell your technician before service. We explain access restrictions and any preparation or re-entry directions for the actual products and application areas. Keep people and pets away from treatment work as instructed.
How often should I have a termite inspection?
ATC recommends an inspection at least annually. Report new signs between visits rather than waiting for the next scheduled inspection.
Do you offer monitoring without an active infestation?
Yes. We offer detection and monitoring services and can discuss the approach appropriate to your property and risk conditions.
Is a WDI report included in my protection program?
For customers with an active service relationship under our Quarterly or Annual Protection Program, a report is included when needed for a qualifying sale or refinance. Contact ATC to confirm eligibility and scheduling.
Does homeowners insurance cover termite damage?
Standard policies generally do not cover termite damage. Your insurer and policy determine your actual coverage, so confirm with them directly.
Can you help with wood damage after treatment?
Yes. We can identify areas needing further evaluation and refer repairs or more extensive corrective work to ATC Home Pros.
